You can drill through and mount the box over vinyl no problem.
Even the wrb has tons of holes in it because it is stapled on and then the siding is nailed on over it.
The vinyl should have a wrb weather resistant barrier like roofing felt or housewrap of some sort behind it so small holes in the vinyl are not a big deal.
