Marimo Moss Carpet

Basicaslly i bought a moss marimo ball instead of what i meant to go and get which was ghost shrimp anyways i will get pics up at some point but i m wondering is there any way of making a carpet like thing on the bottom.

How do i turn moss balls into a beautiful grassy moss carpet for my aquarium. The species can be found in a number of lakes and rivers in japan and northern europe.
