Marbles Quail Water

To easily make a deeper water bowl shallower and safe for quail chicks put stones or marbles at the bottom of it.

Put flat backed marbles in their water container to prevent drowning and make sure the feed container is low enough that they can reach it to eat. Young quail can drown in watering containers so consider putting a mesh over it or adding marbles to keep them from being able to be submerged in the water. The water container needs to be easily accessible but also prevent the quail from drowning. Provide quail with clean drinking water.

An easy way to ensure that they don t drown is to put marbles in a shallow bowl with the water. Quail poop should be cleaned out of the cage daily. You may want to place clean marbles or gravel in the bottom of the water bowl for a week or two so that the chicks can get a drink without falling in or getting wet and cold. Be sure to put marbles in your water bowls so the quail don t drown and keep food easy to reach for their tiny little legs.

Most breeders will put marbles in the water container to prevent the quail from drowning. I fed the button quail chicks gamebird starter. Clean and refill their water containers daily. Provide clean freshwater daily.

You ll want to use a quail waterer like this one or a nipple style waterer so that quail chicks can t splash around in their water.
